Morgan starred in an informational video Safe Sex for Men and Women that addressed AIDS prevention and education. A portion of the proceeds went to the American Foundation for AIDS Research. Morgan is a part of the entertainment industry's AIDS Task Force. Morgan was the driving force behind many fund-raising campaigns for the disease. She also spoke before the Congressional special committee that focused on AIDS education. Morgan is a member of the Board of Governors of APLA and Amfar's Board of Directors. She has been asked to replace the former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop at the AIDS-related gatherings. Steve Bell, a news anchor, has also presented a AIDS Awareness Special. Ted Koppell and Morgan have appeared on Nightline at least twice, to discuss AIDS. Morgan was nominated for the Emmys to be a part of Diane English's Murphy Brown special written especially specifically for Morgan. In the spring, she starred alongside Joan Rivers in ABC television's Your Money or Your Wife. In the following week, she kicked off her summer season with Murder At The PTA Luncheon produced by Von Zerneck/Sertner. It also had Cindy Williams and Marla gibbs. Then she starred in the production of Harmony Gold, Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady that starred Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan was also the protagonist in a thriller about psychological issues that was produced exclusively for the USA Network. It received one of the best ratings that the network has ever had.
